Happy Moments :) Each Moment!
A father is the strength of a family. As compared to a tall and strong tree, a father corresponds to the trunk. Let me introduce my father, he is a loving and humorous one, Mr. Johnny Diaz. I call him “Papang” and he calls me “Oko”. He calls me so, because I keep on uttering that word when I was just about five months old. I have a lot of special and happy moments with him. When I was young, he used to carry me on his shoulders, like I’m riding my own motorcycle or even a car! And I really love it. I feel like I’m on top of the world because I was about three times taller. Whenever I wanted to go to a certain area, I will just turn his head towards the place and he will walk towards that direction. It was really fun with my father!
Whenever my father has something to do, I am always there to watch him because of my desr curiosity. Like, when he made the guines pig pen, I watched and helped him so with that, I was able to learn something and atthe same time, enjoying it with my father, we both enjoyed!
We used to go fishing at a fish pond near our previous home at Dona Soledad. We had our fishing rod, and we collect earthworms for bait and take a walk to the pond. I sometimes become impatient when waiting for a fish to eat the bait but my father tells me to have more patience. And whenever we catch a fish, especially a big and healthy one, I always burst with laughter and it seems to be so rewarding for a long period of waiting. When we already caught enough fishes for meal, we would again take a walk and go home happily taking those fishes with us. We would let my mother to cook it, and there it goes, we would eat a fresh and delicious meal together.And I did also love and enjoy those moments.
When I started going to school, my father used to ask me if how’s school and I would tell him everything I wansted. Whenever I had difficul and hard homeworks, especially in mathematics, my father would not only teach me the answers but also the process, method and techniques on how to find the answers for my father believes, it’s the best way of helping me, because he loves me! I really consider it as a happy and special moment with my beloved father. We both enjoyed it!
Whenever I win competitions during elementary and I have to proceed to the next level, like regional level, off course I had to go to a certain place away from my hometown, GenSan, my father used to travel with me. Like when we went to Kidapawan City for a journalism competition. We took a tour in the place, we went to different places and take pictures, we shopped at the malls in the city and we ate the delicious and palatable delicacies of the place. That was great and awesome!
During weekends or vacations, we also go to plazas and watch amazing events like the “Wall of Death”. Riders with their motorcycles and even cars drive on the wall of the cylindrical event center, without falling on the ground! It was really amazing, unbelievable and cool! We are also taking some adventurous and challenging rides on carnavals. Like ferris wheel, octopus, roller coaster and etc. It was really fun!
When it comes to cooking, my father is really a great one! He cooks recipes that can really make you ask for an extra rice. I wanted to learn it, so when he cooks, I watch and help him with it. Sometimes, he would just let me do most of it and he’ll just assist me, and I love it very much, especially with my father. I like it when he congratulates me for a job well done.
These are just some happy and special moments and expeiences with my beloved father. I know that as time passes by, another happy moments would be added to our memories because each time of my life that I have my father and mother, my family are all happy, special moments of our lives that God had lent us.
